March into Fun, without Breaking the Bank

This time of year seems to drag on forever! Winter is never ending, and we are all pretty sick of the snow. With March break right around the corner, you need to fill your days with adventure and fun for an entire week for the kids. If you have planned a vacation, you’re set! If not, we have you covered for local fun in Almaguin!

There is no shortage of fun in Powassan during the break! They have a March Break Fun Camp Monday to Friday that involves slime making, outdoor Olympics, curling, games, arts and crafts, Science North, robotic Lego and movies to keep your kids occupied all day! They also offer other activities like their kids sewing camp, building a bat house, a family hoedown, a Celtic gospel concert, and a bread making class.

Crystal Caves

Want some activities that cater to both the kids and the parents? Make sure you stop by Crystal Caves and the Artisan Village during your break! Enjoy a weekend of crafting and demos on March 14th and 15th, hosted by the Nipissing Rock and Mineral Club. You can enjoy classes of earring making, wire wrapping, crystal and rock polishing, or just tour around the crystal shop, museum and Artisan Village!

Almaguin Highlands Secondary School Ice Trail

Still want to enjoy all that winter has to offer and spend time in the outdoors? Why not check out the new Ice-Skating Trail at the Almaguin Highlands Secondary School? It is open to the public evenings and weekends to enjoy with the family!

Near North Enviro-Education Centre

For those kids looking for a fun-filled week of outdoor adventures, definitely check out the Community Adventure Program at the Near North Enviro-Education Centre! Monday through Friday, sign up for the full week, or just a day of outdoor fun, snowshoeing, skating, games and activities!

Burk’s Falls Library

The Burk’s Falls, Armour and Ryerson Library has also planned a week full of entertainment for your kids! Check out their Tech Day, Lego Day, Cupcake Day, Board Games, and Seed Bombs.
